Minerals Location
Minerals on islands are often not close to docks. May need to rely on exporting flax, cotton, or timber instead of heavy ores.Mining Camps
Mining camps have a sphere of influence (white circle). Workers only mine within range. Place camps strategically for maximum coverage.Expectations
Expectations system: skilled/educated/positive trait whiskers have higher requirements. Negative traits like Nosy lower expectations (benefit).Fishing Dock
Building fishing dock requires at least an apprentice in any slot to enable all work slots. Essential for food production.Supply Ships
Early game, supply ships are main source of machinery (needed for complex buildings). Taking more supplies = larger tax burden.Pirate Demands
Pirates demand gold ore, machinery, gold bullion. Learn their demands and stockpile accordingly. Refusing pirates results in cannonballs fired at colony.Partial Payment
Partial payment results in some cannonballs being fired. Each cannonball = randomly destroyed building. Destroyed buildings require full repair cost.Gold Bullion
Gold bullion satisfies pirate demands quickly. Gold is their favorite resource. Stockpile gold for emergency pirate payments.
