  • Ship Launching
  • Naval Combat
  • Ship Preparation

Detailed Notes

  • Dock TypesUse a deep-sea dock (not ferry dock) to send ships to sea. Ferry docks only move whiskers between docks. Deep-sea docks enable naval missions.
  • Ship AssignmentAssign a ship to a fishing dock or guano dock first so it can leave and receive orders. Ships must be assigned to operational docks.
  • Ship StockingStock ships with canned food and nets so they can keep going while exploring or fighting. Monitor food levels during long voyages.
  • Crew RequirementsBring at least a small crew of whiskers (e.g., 3) so the ship can operate and fight. Only whiskers with Sailor or Officer skills can crew ships.
  • ExplorationScout ships have limited range. Upgrade to bigger ships for longer voyages. Right-click orders on naval map to set destinations.
  • Food ManagementShips will rush home if food runs low. Watch food stocks closely on long voyages. Fishing ships can provide unlimited food if fishing en route.
  • Naval QuestlineComplete the naval questline (repair the boat) in winter after unlocking Tier 1 research to unlock shipbuilding.
  • Combat4 types of cannon balls: Stone, Bronze, Iron, and Chainshot. Cannon Towers have health points and ballistic simulation for defense.
  • Bridge TransportFor early resource movement between islands, bridges and walking often beat rafts for speed (rafts only carry 2 mice).
  • Ship SinkingIf ship sinks: cargo becomes floating salvage, survivors row home in emergency lifeboats. Ships are capital assets requiring heavy investment.
